KiwiScribe is a catalogue of New Zealand books. Your privacy matters, and the app is built to need as little of your information as possible.
The short version
- We do not collect any personal information.
- We do not track you, and there are no advertising or analytics identifiers.
- There is no account or login.
- Anything you save in the app (such as your reading list) stays on your device.
Information stored on your device
KiwiScribe stores your app data — such as books you add to your list, reading status, and app settings — locally on your device only. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.
Network connections
KiwiScribe connects to the internet only in two limited ways:
- Book cover images are loaded from public book-data services (such as Google Books and Open Library) so covers can be shown.
- Bookshop links — when you choose to find or buy a book, the app opens a New Zealand bookshop's website in an in-app browser.
When your device requests an image or opens a website, that third-party service receives standard technical information (such as your device's IP address) needed to serve the request. This is handled under those services' own privacy policies, not by KiwiScribe, and we do not receive any of that information.
Data we collect: none
We do not collect, store, share, or sell any personal data. There is no tracking, profiling, or advertising.
Children
KiwiScribe does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
